UTC's Jim Foster to Speak at Quarterback Club

Women's basketball hall of fame coach Jim Foster is the scheduled speaker at the Chattanooga Quarterback Club Monday at noon at Finley Stadium.

Foster is in his first year as the Chattanooga Lady Mocs head coach and leads UTC against Lee Univ. Monday night at McKenzie Arena at 7 p.m. in an exhibition game.

Foster has a 35-year career record of 783-307 and coached at Vanderbilt, Ohio State and St. Joseph's prior to coming to UTC.

The Lady Mocs opens the regular season Friday at home against Alabama at 7:30 p.m.


Sue Webb is New Tennis Director at Fairyland Club

Former UTC All-American and college and high school tennis coach Sue Webb has been hired as the director of tennis at Fairyland Club on Lookout Mountain. “I am thrilled to be back at Fairland as it feels like going home,” said an excited Webb who was the tennis director at Fairland Club from 1990-2003 before coaching at Chattanooga Christian and then Covenant College. ... Stolz Earns No. 2 Seeding In State Match Play

KNOXVILLE -- UT-Martin senior Brendon Caballero from Brentwood earned the No. 1 seeding for the round of 16 in the Tennessee Match Play Tournament here Friday at the Holston Hills Country Club. One Of Oldest Log Homes At University Of The South Suffers Heavy Fire Damage

The oldest log home at the University of the South at Sewanne suffered heavy damage on Friday night. Fire broke out at the historic Rebel’s Rest at approximately 11:30 p.m. Fire units arrived a short time later, but flames were shooting high in the air.
