Naomi Katherine Jones Oakes, 87, of High Point, North Carolina, died on Thursday, November 28, 2013.
A native of Chattanooga, she had lived in High Point, N.C. for several years and was formerly of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Oakes; parents, Walter Stephen Jones, Sr. and Mattie Lee Lingerfelt Jones; three sisters, Bernice Jones, Ruth Slaughter and Thelma McKee and three brothers, Willard, William and Walter Jones Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Jan Peavy Manuel and Renee Peavy Chesson both of High Point, N.C.; sister, Betty Oakes of Fort Oglethorpe; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
