“Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry” is now open and will be performed at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. nightly, through Dec. 31 at the Smoky Mountain Opry Theater. Tickets are $44.95.

“We have a large cast of some of the country’s top musicians, singers, dancers, and comedians whose exceptional talents all blend onstage to deliver the magic of Christmas,” said CEO David Fee. “We have also added world caliber aerialists Simone Gruzdev and LeAnn Farley and two time national figure-skating pairs champion David Tankersley and Kasandra Hazard to our show. We are also kicking off the season with our new rare exotic white lion, Tsimba-Vaati.”

Christmas carol favorites, a gospel story telling of the birth of Christ, flying musicians and sugarplum fairies, the area’s largest living nativity with live animals and nearly two-hours of holiday-themed entertainment grace the stage.

“We have joyous Christmas music and new arrangements of old Christmas favorites, new costumes, elves and toys that come to life, lots of indoor snow in the theater and a visit in the show from Santa Claus,” said Mr. Fee.

Children can also have their picture taken with Santa in the lobby of the theater.

The “Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry” wraps at the end of the year on Dec. 30, with a special New Year’s Eve Show on Dec. 31. The theater will then go back to the regular show from Jan. 1 to Jan. 4, featuring country, Broadway, patriotic and gospel music. The theater will close for seasonal maintenance on Jan. 5 and reopen around Feb. 14.
