Let Beauty Awaken Benefit Concert Is Nov. 21

Let Beauty Awaken is a performing and visual arts collaboration to raise funds and awareness for underfunded arts programs in Hamilton County schools.  

There will be a Let Beauty Awaken CD launch party and benefit concert featuring The Dismembered Tennesseans and The WTM Blues Band, as well as some of the student musicians showcased on the CD. The event will be Thursday, Nov. 21, 7 p.m. at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.  General admission is $30 at the door.

In addition to the concert, the artists will be releasing the CDs as well as featuring visual artwork from local students. Then they will unveil the future plans for this project.

Guests must reserve/print their tickets online and then pay at the door.

School Board Turns Thumbs Down To Proposed Funding Of Central Track

County school board members on Thursday night expressed a number of concerns about a proposed $500,000 new track under consideration for funding by the County Commission at Central High School. School Board Approves 4-Year Contract Extension With Independent Bus Drivers, Who Say They Can Handle 100 Routes; Extension Given On Custodial Contract

The county school board on Thursday night extended the contract by four years of school bus owner operators, who said they could deliver on 100 bus routes.
