Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) observed National Radiologic Technology Week to recognize the vital work of Radiation Therapists and Radiologic Technologists and the important role they play in patient care and saving lives.
The nation-wide celebration takes place each November to commemorate the anniversary of the discovery of x-rays.
Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen made the discovery on Nov. 8, 1895, at Wurzburg University in Germany.
On Thursday, Nov. 7, a celebration commemorating National Radiologic Technology Week took place at the Conference Center in the Health Building on the Floyd County Campus of GNTC. Students in the Radiology and Radiation Therapy programs participated in team building exercises and a ‘question bowl’ from the course RAD 1010, which both programs require for graduation.
