260 Apartment Units Planned In East Brainerd Near Islamic Center

A 260-unit apartment complex is planned on Gunbarrel Road at Pinewood Drive.

The site is near a roundabout and the Islamic Center.

Officials said construction will begin early next year on Springs at Chattanooga.

It will include a clubhouse and pool.

Buildings will have 16, 20, 24 and 28 units depending on the bedroom configuration. There will be be four different building types that feature detached garages. 

Unit sizes include studio, one bed and bath, two bedroom and two baths and three bedrooms and two baths. 

It is a project of Continental Apartments, which also has a complex at Huntsville, Ala.

Construction will be by NorSouth.

Officials met Wednesday afternoon at the Development Resource Center with potential vendors and sub-contractors. 

The total project is over 300,000 square feet.
