A Tullahoma emergency room physician is in critical condition at Erlanger Hospital after being shot multiple times by his estranged wife.

Police said seven shots were fired at Dr. Harry Bartee, who is employed at Harton Regional Medical Center. He was struck four times, including once in the abdomen and three in the lower portion of his body.

Brenda Bartee is being held in the Coffee County Jail under $500,000 bond, according to the Tullahoma News.

The shooting happened after the couple had gone to an attorney's office for a mediation session and the talks had broken down.

She went outside to her car to get a gun.
