Street Closings Announced For The Weekend

Liberty Street, from Mississippi Avenue to Federal Street, will be closed on Friday and Saturday, from 12-9 p.m. for the Hill Fest.  Access will be granted to residents from Federal Street.

Selected streets in the Cummings Cove Subdivision will be closed to thru traffic on Saturday, from 1:30-5:30 p.m. for the Black Creek Mountain 5K and Fun Run.  Traffic Control officers and volunteers will be present to remind motorists that runners will be present.

Eastbound Cherokee Boulevard from Velma Street to Market Street, the southbound curb lane of the Market Street Bridge to Aquarium Way, northbound Chestnut Street from Aquarium Way to Riverside Drive, eastbound Riverside Drive from Chestnut Street to Lindsay Street, westbound Riverside Drive at Lindsay Street, the westbound curb lane of 3rd Street from eastbound High Street to Walnut Street, northbound Walnut Street from 3rd Street to the south end of the Walnut Street Bridge, the eastbound curb lane of Frazier Avenue from Market Street to Tremont Street and Tremont Street from Frazier Avenue south to the turnaround will be closed from 6-10 a.m. on Saturday for the Run Run Rudolph 5K.

Southbound Browns Ferry Road from Lookout Valley Elementary School to Cummings Highway and the westbound curb lane of Cummings Highway to the Walmart entrance will be closed from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, for the Lookout Valley Christmas Parade.  The parade will end by turning left into the Walmart parking lot.

Market Street from Martin Luther King Boulevard to 12th Street and the intersecting cross streets (one block each side of Market Street) will be closed from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, for the Holiday Starlight Parade line up assembly.  Market Street and the intersecting cross streets (one block each side of Market Street) from Martin Luther King Boulevard to 3rd Street will be closed from 6-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, for the Holiday Starlight Parade.  Westbound 3rd Street between Chestnut Street and Market Street, and northbound Broad Street between Aquarium Way and 3rd Street will be closed for the Holiday Starlight Parade and its disbursement.  All times are approximate.  All streets should be open by 7:30 p.m. Parking will be prohibited on Market Street along the parade route and in the disbursement area of 3rd Street and northbound Broad Street. Parking meters will be unbagged as soon as possible after the parade.
