Chattanooga Airport May Buy TAC Air

Saturday, December 14, 2013

City Councilman Larry Grohn says an apparent move for the Chattanooga Airport to buy the TAC Air operation shows that two FBOs cannot be profitable at the facility.

He saiid, "It appears the Airport Authority has come to realize what everyone knew all along. Lovell Field doesn't have the volume of business to support two FBOs.

"Are they buying TAC Air out to justify the existence of the Wilson Air operation which they spent so much money to establish?"

The Airport Authority finance committee met Friday and a portion of the meeting was closed.

TAC Air has been critical of the airport financing the Wilson Air FBO, which has suffered substantial losses thus far.

Airport officials said earlier that it was known all along that the Wilson operation initially would operate at a deficit.

Roy Exum: Al Sharpton’s Wise Remarks

I’ll admit I paid little more than scant attention to the Monday funeral of Michael Brown, the 18-year-old who was shot and killed by police bullets in Ferguson, Mo., after he allegedly was involved in strong-armed robbery. There are too many tawdry details and, in my way of thinking, there is nothing under God’s sun, absolutely nothing, that gives others the right to riot, burn ... (click for more)
