Counterpoint Holiday Edition Nativitas Is Friday And Sunday

The Counterpoint Holiday Edition: 'Nativitas' featuring Sara Snider Schone (mezzo soprano), Joshua Bermudez (cellist), and Tim Hinck (pianist/composer) will be Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. 

The performances will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 848 Ashland Terr. 

This program brings back three musicians from the previous Counterpoint concert held in September, for a concert of music, both old and new, that is in some way tied to the Nativity.   

The proceeds will go to benefit an upcoming opera project with the Artisti Affamati opera company, featuring a new opera by Tim Hinck.

City Applies For $27 Million Federal Grant On $52 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

The city is applying for a $27 million federal TIGER 6 grant for a $52 million complete reworking of the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The project would leave the current tunnel in place for westbound traffic with a single lane and build a new two-lane tunnel for eastbound traffic.
