Russ Huesman, Davis Tull Finalists For National Awards

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga head coach Russ Huesman and junior defensive end Davis Tull were both finalists for the Eddie Robinson and Buck Buchanan Awards following the 2013 season.  These honors are given out by The Sports Network and voted upon by members of the media covering FCS football

Huesman, the 2013 Southern Conference Coach of the Year, guided the Mocs to and 8-4 record and a share of their first SoCon title since 1984.  He was 17th in the voting for the Eddie Robinson Award, given to the National Coach of the Year.

  North Dakota State’s Craig Bohl won the honor for the second straight season.

Tull won his second-straight SoCon Defensive Player of the Year honor this season and was 13th in the voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the National Defensive Player of the Year.  Montana State defensive end Brad Daly won the honor, the second in a row for a Bobcat defender. 



Teague Returns To UCRA Glory, Wins Round #5 Wartburg Speedway

The United Championship Racing Alliance returned to the Wartburg Speedway west of Knoxville Saturday night for the rescheduled “Mayhem 40” $2,000 to-WIN event. Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Softball Classic Set For Tuesday

The Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Softball Classic, the oldest of the Stump on Sports All-Star Series, will see its 21st version take place Tuesday night as the annual doubleheader will begin at 6 p.m. at Chattanooga's Frost Stadium.  Team Tennessee will be coached by Tim Couch from Silverdale Baptist Academy, who guided the Lady Seahawks to their first ever TSSAA state championship ... Attorney Davis Says Other Driver In Styles Case Pulled Gun While Driving Wildly; Denies Radio Host "Blacked Out"

Attorney Lee Davis said the other driver in a Friday road rage incident in Hixson pulled a gun on radio personality Jeff Styles while driving wildly.  He denied that the talk show host blacked out.  Jeff Styles, who was shot in the forearm, was charged with aggravated assault and vandalism. Floyd Charged With Fighting Police Officer On Station Street In Incident Caught On Video

Police have charged 21-year-old William Alexander Floyd after a fight with an officer on Station Street that was caught on video and quickly shared on social media. Floyd, of Ringgold, Ga., was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, vandalism, public intoxication and resisting arrest.
