CARTA’s Christmas And New Year’s Holiday Schedules

CARTA will discontinue all bus services early on Christmas Eve.  The last trip leaving downtown on the Eastgate/Hamilton Place route will be at 5:30 p.m.  The last Downtown Shuttle will leave Shuttle Park North returning to the Choo Choo at 5:30 p.m.  The last trip leaving downtown will be at 7:30 p.m. on the following routes:  Alton Park, East Lake, East Chattanooga/Avondale, Northgate, and Golden Gateway.  All other routes will run their regular schedules.  CARTA Care-a-van will end service at 5 p.m.

There will be no CARTA bus service, Downtown Shuttle service, or CARTA Care-a-van service on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.  All CARTA services will run regular weekday schedules on New Year’s Eve.

THP Graduates 31 New State Troopers; Haslam Delivers Keynote Address

Governor Bill Haslam served as the keynote speaker for the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s graduation ceremony at the Hermitage Hills Baptist Church in Nashville on Friday. Signal Mountain Man Charged In Traffic Death Of Tunnel Hill Woman, 28

Authorities said a Signal Mountain man was driving when his vehicle struck and killed a woman walking along a road at Ringgold, Ga., on Thursday night. Tyler Alexander Lemley, 20, was charged with DUI. Other charges are pending. Chattanooga Woman Sues Over Treatment Of Disabled Daughter At Memphis Airport Security Checkpoint

A Chattanooga woman has filed suit, alleging that her disabled daughter was roughed up by airport police and Transportation Security Administration personnel at the Memphis Airport.
