Artists Wanted For Installation Of Art Work At Fire Station 1

Public Art Chattanooga is seeking qualifications from artists or artist teams for the commission and installation of a work of public art on the lawn of Fire Station #1.  Up to five finalists will be selected to develop concept proposals for this project.   

Each finalist will be paid a $500 stipend.  The project budget for the selected commission is $75,000.  This project is made possible through a grant from The Lyndhurst Foundation.

This RFQ is open to all professional artists and artist teams over the age of 18, who currently reside in the United States. 

Applications must be postmarked or received electronically by Jan. 10 at 4 p.m. No exceptions. The application can be found on page 5.

Man Shot Multiple Times In Cleveland; Jesus Teague, 14, Is Arrested

On Saturday, at 6:12 a.m., Cleveland Police Department responded to 1210 Elrod Place SE in reference to a domestic disturbance.   A man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Erlanger by Life Force. Travis Caslin, 42, Shot While Walking Along South Willow Street

Chattanooga Police said a man was shot on Friday night while walking along South Willow Street.   The victim was identified as Travis Caslin, 42.   At 7:37 p.m., Chattanooga Police officers were called to a local hospital after a person showed up with a gunshot wound.   Police were informed that the victim's condition was non-life threatening. ...
