Jones, Ruby Lucille Hill (Cleveland)

Ruby Lucille Hill Jones, 99, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the family residence. 

A native and lifelong resident of Bradley County, she was the daughter of the late Hester Burton Hill and William H. Hill; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend J. B. Jones; her brothers, Haskel L. “Hack” Hill, Fred C. “Tip” Hill, Charles O. Hill, Willard A. Hill, Rubin L. “R. L.” Hill and Francis Eugene Hill; her sisters, Effie Mikel “Effo” Allen and Mary Hill Beard; her grandson, Danny Brown; and her son-in-law, Doyle Brown.

Mrs. Jones was retired from Jackson Manufacturing with many years of service. After her retirement, she served as a caregiver for the elderly. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Ocoee. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, quick smile as well as her love for her family! Mrs. Jones was a member of the Ball Play Baptist Church of Old Fort.

Survivors include her son, Larry Jones and his wife Jimmie of Cleveland; her daughters, Bobbie Brown also of Cleveland, Jackie Moore and her husband Allen of Louisville, KY; her grandsons, Clyde D. “Butch” Brown and his wife Diana, David L. Gatlin and his wife Marla, Aaron Jones and his wife Patty all of Cleveland and R. Mark Gatlin of Louisville; her granddaughters, Pam Wright and her husband Bobby of Cleveland, Kellye D. Gatlin and Jimiann L. Gatlin of Louisville and Jennifer Jordan and her husband Dwight of Niota; her great-granddaughters, Jamie Jones, Meagan Samuelson, Emily Brown Lynch and her husband Brian and Jenny Brown Martin; her great-great-grandsons, Jacob Wright and Tyler Jones, Jacob and William Jordan and Hayden Lynch; and several close friends, nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 4 from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Reverend Herbert Fansler and Reverend Darren Fansler officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Aaron Jones, Logan Hindman, Butch Brown, Jacob Wright, Tyler Jones and Bobby Wright serving as pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 3 at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
