Kurt Hughes
Kurt Richmond Hughes, 45, died on Saturday, Dec. 21, suddenly and completely unexpectedly.
He was born on July 4, 1968 and was a firecracker his entire life. He loved life, his family and friends to the fullest. Rich lit up every room he entered with his infectious smile and gregarious personality.
He was the grandson of the late Otis and Martha Belle Black and John Paul and Georgia Hughes, all of Chattanooga.
Rich grew up in the Brainerd area and attended Boyd Buchanan School from Kindergarten and graduated in 1986. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was employed at the Lamp Post Group.
Survivors include his beloved wife and soul mate Sally, his sons, Elijah and Aaron, parents, Harold and June Hughes, brother, Hunter and sister-in-law, Mary Hughes, niece, Gabby and nephew, Wyatt Hughes all of Chattanooga. He will be desperately missed by all his family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, in the funeral home chapel.
The family would like to thank the Rhea Medical Center, Nurse Lisa, and the police and firefighters who fought so valiantly to save our Rich and were with him in his final moments on this earth. We look forward to a joyous reunion in Heaven.
