George Davis
George W. Davis, 79, of Rossville, died on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on January 16, 1934 to the late George E. and Hettie Davis. He was the owner of Midway Used Auto Parts in Rossville where he also worked as a mechanic. Mr. Davis also owned and managed rental apartments. His passions in life were playing cards and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Madeline Johnson; brothers, Jerry Davis and Walt Davis; and daughter-in-law, Desiree Davis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Joy Davis; children, Terry Davis, Michael (Marilyn) Davis, Riley Davis, Danny (Lisa) Davis, Gary (Sharon) Davis, Mark (Darlene) Davis, and Sheila (Ron) Altum; Sister, Lorene Stewart; brothers, John, Jimmy, Tommy, and Lebron Davis; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Pastor Jim Jones officiating. Mark Davis, Riley Davis, Terry Davis, Jonathan Davis, Adam Jefferies, and Cody Bowers will serve as pallbearers and Bobby Blackwell, Jeremy Wooten, and Zachary Burr will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5-9 p.m. and Friday, from 12-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
