Celebrate Christmas At Covenant College Dec. 12

Celebrate Christmas at Covenant College will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. with music by Brass Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Covenant Chorale, Early Music Consort and the Madrigal Singers.  It will be directed by Scott Finch, Lok Kim and David Long.  It will be followed by a Madrigal Dessert Reception.

The concert is free and open to the public.   

Madrigal Dessert tickets may be purchased online at covenant.edu/celebratechristmas. Tickets are general admission: $12, group discount (groups of 20 or more): $10, seniors: $10, alumni: $10, faculty, staff and students: $8, and children are $8. 

Doors for the concert will open at 7 p.m.  Priority seating for Madrigal Dessert Reception ticket holders will begin at 6:45 p.m
 
The concert will center on the theme “Let All the World in Every Corner Sing—My God and King!”

Auditions Are April 26,27 For Midsummer Night’s Dream

Man Shot On Cannon Avenue Early Saturday Morning

A man was shot early Saturday morning on Cannon Avenue. At approximately 5:30 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to 2300 Cannon Ave. for shots fired.  Shortly after receiving the call, officers learned that a victim arrived at a local hospital.  The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and is undergoing treatment. Child Playing With Cigarette Lighter Starts $25,000 Mobile Home Fire

A child playing with a cigarette lighter started a mobile home fire on Saturday morning. At 9 a.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire at 6561 Cassie Lane. It took four fire companies about 10 minutes to get the fire under control. The fire was contained to one bedroom. No injuries were reported. Damage to the home is around $25,000. (click for more)
