James Smith
James Smith, 82, formally of Chattanooga, died peacefully at Tuscany House in Summerfield, Florida.
He was a loving father, husband and papaw. James was a successful business man and founder of several locksmith companies. He attended New Hope Baptist Church in Chattanooga and Memorial Baptist in Florida. He enjoyed working, traveling, fishing, family and helping others.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Roper Smith; mother, Janie Smith; grandparents, Clarcie and Murphy Cannon; sisters, Viola Moser and Edith Ellisor and brother, Ernest Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Smith; son, Roger (Donna) Smith; granddaughter, Courtney (Glen) McMurtry; great grandson, Brevin McMurtry and sister, Lillie McKamey.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jenkins officiating. There will be a visitation from 3-5 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
