Mildred Ellen McClure Bearden, 84, of Dalton, GA, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Slaughter; father, Martin Luther McClure; step-father, William Aubrey Slaughter; son, John Daniel “Danny” Bearden; and sister, Joyce Ford.
She was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, John Daniel Bearden Sr. of the residence; daughter, Kathy Bearden Gurley of Ringgold, GA; son, Martin Timothy Bearden of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, Billy Slaughter of Harrison, TN and Jimmy Slaughter of Van Buren, AR; grandchildren, Margaret and Brian Carr, Jason and Melissa, Jonathan, and Jamie and Meagan Bearden; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Megan Carr, Emma and Lucas Bearden; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Bearden will be held Tuesday, December 10, at 2 p.m. at Grove Level Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie Bridges and Rev. Bill Walker officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 9 from 5-9 p.m.
