Longtime Paramedic With Memorial Health Care System

Cary Lamar Hughes, 47, of LaFayette, Georgia died on Thursday, January 31, 2013. 

He was born to the late Evans C. and Earnesteen Laminack Hughes in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on July 12, 1965. 

He worked as a paramedic for Memorial Healthcare System and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Red Bank, where he served as an usher, played on the church softball team and coordinated the churches first responder program. In the past he volunteered with the Walker County Fire and Rescue and was employed with Hutcheson and Chattooga Emergency Services and Georgia Department of Corrections.

Survivors include his siblings, Ricky N. Hughes, Linda (Dennis) Trundle, all of LaFayette, Jerry Hughes, Vivian (Charles) Crump and Austeen (Ray) Allen, all of Dalton, and David Stacks of Las Vegas, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2–9 p.m. on Friday and prior to the service Saturday. Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Dwight Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery.

Riha, Minnie Mae

Minnie Mae Riha, 75, of Ringgold, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Doris Davis Lynch, 92, of Dalton, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Quinton Memorial Health Care Center.
