Signal Mountain Genealogical Society Meeting March 5

The Signal Mountain Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Walden Town Hall. 

John Wynne will be presenting a program on “Charles James and the beginnings of Signal Mountain.”Mr. Wynne, a native of Signal Mountain, is noted for his in-depth knowledge of the history or our community. 

Refreshments will be served at 1:00 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m.  Visitors are always welcome.

 

 


Dalton, Ga. Featured In Old Post Cards

Dalton, Ga., is featured in four old post cards that were sent by a traveling minister to his home-bound sister in North Carolina. Mabel Snead Smawley had a hobby of collecting post cards and brother, Albert Snead, often obliged her. He sent four from Dalton on Feb. 12, 1906. Boy, 4, Struck By Vehicle Near Tunnel Boulevard

A four-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle near Tunnel Boulevard on Saturday afternoon.
