Vote Satterfield For Mayor - And Response

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

In my humble opinion, the mayoral race boils down to will things be different or will they not.

It seems to me that if people have grown tired of the endless shenanigans of Mayor Littlefield, how could we possibly expect any different from Andy Berke. The reason I say this is that most of Mr. Berke's money and supporters are the very same "powers that be" people that supported Mr. Littlefield. If these same people never expressed displeasure with Mr. Littlefield in the form of withholding said support it was because they can only have approved of the shenanigans.

We have not heard what Mr. Berke will do as mayor other than that he will "renew" Chattanooga, whatever that means. I can only conclude this would set us up for more of the same and business as usual. I foresee the Littlefield gravy train continuing with Mr. Berke to the further detriment of Chattanooga.

A person must stand for something to get my attention. The touchy feely term "renew" sounds awesome but in the absence of concrete direction intended simply will not cut it for me.

We have a candidate in Mr. Guy Satterfield who has given concrete direction of his intentions as mayor. Mr. Satterfield does not have the support of the "powers that be" people. This can only be because they know Mr. Satterfield will rock their boat in a way unfavorable to them.

I can be honest and say I don't agree one hundred percent with Mr. Satterfield on everything he has said he intends to do but at least I know exactly where he stands on the issues and what he intends to do about them. I make my decisions based on information not the lack of it. Mr. Satterfield is all about information, Mr. Berke on the other hand is about the lack of it. To make decisions, like on who to vote for, without information is a scary thing and people who do so deserve everything that comes their way as a result. Do not let touchy feely, the paper and the powers that be decide this for you.

Guy does not have the suits and money on his side as Mr. Berke does for reasons explained above. A vote for Guy Satterfield for mayor will be a very definite positive for the city of Chattanooga. I believe he would be one of if not the very best multi term mayors Chattanooga has ever seen. Vote Satterfield for mayor.

* * *

The first time I met Guy Satterfield I knew from the first few words, "I like this man."  So I would like to say we have to do whatever it takes to elect him to the mayor's office.

There is no doubt that he is the best man for mayor.  He spent many years working for the city of Chattanooga.  He knows what has to happen for Chattanooga to grow and prosper and he will get it done, without a doubt.

I remember Chattanooga in good times and bad, as Mr. Satterfield has. I am proud to live here. This is a very crucial time.  We must have city government get along with county government, this, as we all know, has not happened with our current mayor. I will not go into detail, but we have to have Satterfield lead us. "The ball is in our court," we have to "hit a homerun" so as I see it.

His signs in the area state accountability, well rest assured he means what he says, there won't be any waste and careless spending of our tax dollars. I dare say, he will be seen riding his motorcycle to work as mayor, just to save gas. If you ask him a question he will give you an answer. He believes in God and he will promote Chattanooga.

Satterfield will be the best for Chattanooga, so get out and vote, it is important that we elect Satterfield. For the working people in Chattanooga there is no other choice.

The Message Of The GOP Is Hate And Division

Maybe it is me.  Maybe it is me that thinks the likes of Donald Trump or Ben Carson, Ted Cruz and some of the others represent the voting public.  I noticed and watched, again, with horror, that another shooting and killing happened in Colorado yesterday.  Couple that with some of the hysterical rhetoric of the Republican Party and wonder, or I do, just what is happening ... Roy Exum: We Can’t ‘Ban The Box’

I know a man who has over 20 former convicts from federal prisons who either work for him or who have retired with their dignity, pride, and self-worth restored. Better yet, I know some of them, men who have done “hard time” in prisons so wretched none of us would dare to go. So on the surface I applaud City Councilman Yusef Hakeem for seeing ways to get formerly incarcerated men ... (click for more)
