Lenten Alternative Worship Services At Christ United Methodist

On Sunday nights during the Lenten season, Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 East Brainerd Road, will offer a series of alternative worship services. There will be five 7 p.m. services that are different from the usual experience. The first evening, Sunday, will be High Church Eucharist.

Adult softball signups will be held at the church Feb. 17 through March 18 for men, women and  coeds. Sign up at the information booth.

A number of Lenten studies will be offered at different times, beginning Sunday. they are:

"The Way," by Adam Hamilton, Sundays beginning March 3 at 10 a.m. in Room A-11, led by Patty Fosse or Sundays, beginning Sunday, at 10 a.m. in  Room A-14, led by Bill Teem; "24 Hours That Changed the World," by Adam Hamilton, Sunday, beginning Feb. 17, 10 a.m., in youth center, led by Greg Boring, Sunday, at 10 a.m. in Room M-2, led by Paul Wagner or Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in the youth center, led by Mary Austin; "40 Days to a Joy-Filled Life" by Tommy Newberry, Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m in Room A-14, led by Cathy Turner, Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. in  Trinity-Woodmore Chapel led by Cathy Turner or Thursday, March 7, at 10 a.m. in  Room M-5, led by Cathy Turner; "Who is This Man" by John Ortberg, Wednesdays, beginning March 6 at 6:30 in Room M-6, led by Becky Hall; "The Passion of Christ" Wednesdays beginning Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary, led by Rev. Mark Flynn.


St. Timothy's Holds Family Mission Camp

St. Timothy's will hold its 2nd Annual Family Mission Camp from Monday, June 17 through Thursday, June20. There will be food, fun, and growing together.  Everyone is invited to attend. (click for more)

Midweek On The Mountain Features Music At Signal Mountain Bible

Dog Fighting Operation Uncovered On Talledega Avenue

TBI was executing a narcotics search warrant at 6302Talladega Ave. in Chattanooga on Friday and uncovered a dog fighting operation. Officials said it consisted of numerous pit bills, a fight ring, a treadmill and blood-stained carpets and paneling. Mcckamey Animal Services personnel were processing the fight scene. City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
