Bethany Lynn Pelts and Matthew Drake Smisson were married Saturday night in rites at the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Roger Gulick and Brian Salter officiated.

A reception was held at Stratton Hall, 3146 Broad St.

The couple became engaged April 22. The bride elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hurd Pelts of Bluefield, W.V., and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Aylor, of Bluefield, W.V., and the late Mr.

and Mrs. Pete Pelts of Bluefield, W.V.

The groom is the son of the late Mr. Joseph Drake Smisson and Mrs. Susan Smisson of Lookout Mountain, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. F. Wright Smisson of Bonaire, Ga., and Mrs. Terrice Ayers Toney and the late Mr. Elmo Toney Jr. of Helen, Ga.

Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church is the childhood church of the groom and where the couple are currently members.

Bethany is a graduate of Graham High School, Bluefield, Va., and Covenant College, where she majored and earned her degree in Sociology. Miss Pelts currently works for PlayCore in Chattanooga.

The groom is a graduate of Chattanooga Christian School, and Covenant College where he majored and earned his degree is business and history. Mr. Smisson is currently a manager at Fowler Brothers Company in Chattanooga.

In the bridal party were family and close friends of the couple. The maid of honor was Miss Kristen Walker of Signal Mountain, and the best man was Mr. William Cooper of South Pittsburg, Tn. Also a part of the wedding party were Miss Megan Afman of Chickamauga, Miss Lisa Solis of Littleton, Co., Mrs. Olivia Pelts of Dallas, Tx., sister-in-law of the bride, Miss Hope Smisson of Lookout Mountain, sister of the groom, Miss Beka Finkel of Bluefield, W.V., and Miss Amanda VanCamp of Quakerstown, Pa. Groomsmen included Mr. Stephen Wharton of Franklin, Tn., Mr. Donnovin Rogers of Houston, Tx., Mr. Zach Woodruff of Decatur, Ala., Mr. Jonathan Pelts of Bluefield, W.V., brother of the bride, Mr. David Pelts of Bluefield, W.V., brother of the bride, and Mr. Daniel Pelts of Bluefield, W.V., brother of the bride.

Following the wedding, the couple intends to reside in Chattanooga.
