Serious Accident On Hixson Pike Sends 3 To Hospital, Including 3-Year-Old

Three people are in the hospital after a serious car accident on Hixson Pike Sunday afternoon.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office was called to 8311 Hixson Pike at approximately 1:25 p.m. regarding a traffic crash involving two vehicles.

Deputies found from the investigation that the driver of a white 2002 Ford Ranger truck pulled out from the Dollar Store onto Hixson Pike to go northbound.  The second vehicle, described as a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, was traveling southbound on Hixson Pike.

The two vehicles hit head-on causing the driver of the Ford Ranger to be ejected.

Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services transported all involved to area hospitals.

The driver of the 2002 Ford Ranger was identified as Alma Shackleford of Graysville, Tn.  The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer was identified as Chasity Williams of Hixson. She had a three-year-old child with her.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and is being conducted by the HCSO Traffic Division.

Barbara Sue Perdue Greer Charged With Coercion Of A Witness

Barbara Sue Perdue Greer has been arrested for coercion of a witness. Members of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division filed the charge and took Ms. Greer, 40, of Cohulla Road, Southeast, into custody.  Reports indicate Ms. Greer is a defendant in a pending case, and her actions toward a witness in that case led to the charge.  ... CCS, Notre Dame Win State Soccer Sectionals, GPS Advances To State Semifinals

It was a District 7A/AA sweep on Saturday in girls state soccer sectionals.  Notre Dame hosted Boyd-Bucahan and won 1-0 and CCS traveled to Grace and won 2-1.  In Class AAA, East Hamilton hosted Oakland and lost 1-0.
