Woman Given 3-Year Sentence On Burglary, Theft Charges

A woman charged with stealing from her neighbor as well as a couple of stores has been given a three-year prison sentence.

Nina Nicole Whiddon, 32, appeared Tuesday before Criminal Court Judge Rebecca Stern.

She pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and two counts of theft under $500.

It will be determined at a sentencing hearing how she will serve the time. She is currently out on bond.

Prosecutor Brian Finlay said Ms. Whiddon stole almost $4,000 in jewelry and other items from the neighbor.

He said she also was caught trying to shoplift $292 in items from Walmart and taking $63 from a store on Ringgold Road.

Ms.

Whiddon will be required to make restitution to the victims.
