Durham, Deward Grady, Jr.

Deward Grady Durham, Jr., who was born on January 19, 1943 in Flintstone, Georgia, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in a Johnson City, Tennessee hospital. He was 70.

He retired from Sherman and Riley in Chattanooga.

Deward was preceded in death by his parents, Deward Grady and Katherine Marable Durham, Sr.; his wives, Nora Chastain Durham and Peggy Tharpe Durham.

Deward is survived by his son, William (Sherri) Chauncey; granddaughter, Heather; stepchildren, Margie (Hoke Edwards) Cordell, Terry Sellers and Mike (Amy) Sellers; his step grandchildren, whom he adored, Dakota Lively, Michael Sellers, MaKayla Sellers, Andrew Sellers, Erica Sellers, Trinity Sellers, Stephanie Evans and Justina Edwards; step great-grandsons, Devon Cook and James Evans; uncles, Donald (Marie) and Darrell (Naomi) Hartman;

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the North Chapel.

Services for Deward will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the North Chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
