Mae Emma Bell, 88, departed this life on Thursday, October 13, 2016.  She was affectionately known as “Babe” and was born April 5, 1928 in Athens, Georgia to Harrison and Carrie Jones Handy.   She came to Chattanooga as a teenager and soon united with Phillips Temple CME church, where she served faithfully on the Usher Board for years.    She leaves ... Fire Displaces Family Of 7

No injuries were reported in connection with a house fire on Saturday afternoon that displaced a family of seven. The Chattanooga Fire Department received the alarm at 4:11 p.m. and responded to 3308 Dodson Ave. with five fire companies.
