Van Hooser Asks Decision To Revoke Certificate Of Operation For All-American Taxi Be Overturned

  • Wednesday, February 20, 2013

The owner of All-American Taxi is asking Chancery Court to overturn a decision of the City Transportation Board revoking his certificate of operation.

Randy Van Hooser said a competitor, Tim Duckett, improperly lobbied the board to revoke his certificate rather than give him a warning.

The suit, filed against the Transportation Board, says Mr. Duckett is the owner of Milennium Cab and is on the advisory committee of the board. He is a competitor of All-American Taxi, it was stated.

The complaint says Mr.

Van Hooser raised his rates by mistake after a vote of the Transportation Board to do so. He said he had not realized that the increase had to be ratified by the City Council. That action never happened.

Mr. Van Hooser said he has 27 employees affected by the Transportation Board action.

Attorney Jim Hurst filed the suit.
