Michael G. Whaley, 59, of East Ridge, died on February 19, 2013.
He was a lifelong resident of East Ridge. He was born July 11, 1953 in Chattanooga. He attended East Ridge High School and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an avid Tennessee Vol’s fan and enjoyed camping, water sports and shooting pool with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Sue Whaley; son, Michael Shane Whaley; grandson, Logan Michael Whaley; parents, Charles and Mary Lou Whaley; stepson, Jeremy Dotson; sisters, Sandy Whaley and Pam Wells; brother, Terry (Connie) Whaley; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 21, from 5-9 p.m., and Friday, Feb. 22, from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
