  • Friday, February 22, 2013
Former GPS three-sport athlete Tory Kemp earned All-ACC honors for her third-place finish in the pentathlon at the 2013 ACC Indoor Championships at Blacksburg, Va., on Thursday, as she earned 3,730 points to rank fourth all-time in the University of North Carolina record books.

"I was very pleased with Tory's performance overall," said assistant coach Josh Langley after the first day of competition, "She had a couple instances of adversity and she bounched back well. She is pleased with her performance but is not satisified by any means which is the sign of big things to come."

Kemp's marks included a PR 8.73 in the 60-meter hurdles, 5-3 ¾ (1.62 meters) in the high jump, 33-2 (10.11 meters) in the shot put, 18-1 ¾ (5.53 meters) in the long jump, and 2:24.94 in the 800.
