Claude Walker Rothwell, 84, lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013, at his home.  

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from TVA with over 25 years of service. Mr. Rothwell was a member of Red Bank Masonic Lodge and Alhambra Shrine.  He was of the Baptist faith. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Laura Rothwell.

Survivors include his daughters, Vicki Rothwell and Linda Lanier, both of Red Bank; sons, Clifford (Linda) Goft  of Alabama and Kurt (Kim) Rothwell of Chattanooga.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Richard Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.  

Joe Summers, James Gault, Joe DeMary, Ron Talwater, Jerry Carter and Ed Hargis will serve as pallbearers. 

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace 877-3524.

Jesse Carroll Roberts, 78, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Huntingdon, Tennessee. Elysie Cheek Arnold died peacefully Tuesday evening, April 22, 2014 surrounded by family and loved ones.  She was 99. She was born in Burlington, N.C., on Aug. 13, 1914 to John and Bess Satterfield Cheek. Catoosa Man Convicted Of Sexual Abuse Of 5 Young Girls Gets Life Plus 250 Years

A Catoosa County man convicted of the sexual abuse of five young girls and possession of child pornography has been sentenced to life plus 250 years. James Martin Ferris, 34, was found guilty after a recent trial. The day after his conviction, Judge Ralph Van Pelt set the sentence.
