Brenda Davis
Brenda J. Davis, 69, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, February 24, 2013.
Brenda was a retired nurse who was dedicated to taking exceptional care of her patients. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Davis; parents, Lee Royal King and Willie Mae Eberhardt; grandmother, Lottie McCoy; brothers, Anthony Eberhardt and Eric Eberhardt.
She is survived by her son, Marqual Hudgins of North Carolina; daughters, Kim (Victor) Parks of Chattanooga, Tasha Sligh of Virginia, Venus (Kenneth) Toney of Georgia, and Carmen Davis; grandchildren, David R. Garth III, Quaelon Brown, Quianna Morgan of Virginia, Sheena Mathews, Grady Mathews, Jr., Darsheka Stewart, Andrenay Hudgins, Shalonda Hudgins, Sharkella Hudgins, Sharquela Porter, all of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Aniyah Mathews (her special joy), Brandon Joynes, Jr., Amareya Hudgins all of Chattanooga; brothers, Larry (Gail) White of Los Angeles, CA and Steven (Marlon) Eberhardt, James Jackson; sisters, Jean (Jesse) Eberhardt, Vickie Talley and Teri Eberhardt all of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Bishop James Davis of West Palm Beach, Fla., and William (Charlesett) Davis; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Townsend Davis of Chattanooga and Shirley (Bennett) Higgins of Alabama; special daughters, Antoinette (Brian) Sales, Angela Walton, Deanna Smith, Willete Sexton and Denise (Keith) Jones; special family members, Ervin Hughes, LaWanda Spears, John Sligh III and John (Kathy) Sligh, special cousins, Robbie Jean Donahue, Mary Thomas; special friends, Jackie Pace, Doris Barker, Liz Hester, Angelette McGraw, Diane Lyons, Doris Smith, Rosetta Johnson and Lee Bowman; a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and extended families, Whaley’s and White’s of Los Angeles.
Special thanks to Dr. S. Jeong, Dr. G. Jeong, Dr. Zellner, Dr. Hood, Dr. Miller and all of the other assisting physicians at Parkridge Hospital. Also special thanks to all the nursing staff at Parkridge Hospital SICU including Joye Heather, Lisa Yoder, Sue Vargo, Anna Posey, Susan Parks, Tracy Martin and Aaron Davis.
Funeral services will be held at Olivet Baptist Church at noon on Thursday, Feb. 28, with Dr. Victor Parks officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
