Donald H. Scott, Jr., 79, of Ringgold, Georgia, died on Sunday, February 24, 2013, in a Macon, Ga., medical facility.
He retired as a supervisor after 44½ years with Chattanooga Paperboard, formerly Container Corporation of America, and he was of the Christian faith. He loved cooking, talking and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Henry Scott, Sr. and Odie Mae Clayton Scott, two sons, Donald Alan Scott and Brian Douglas Scott, sister, Martha Scott Gentry Lappin, and brother, Eugene Leroy Scott.
Survivors include his wife of 46½ years, Mary Nelson Scott, sons, Steven Perry (Brenda) Scott, Christopher Sean (Jodie) Scott and Jason Clayton (Ramona) Scott, grandchildren, Mia Scott (Ryan) Burnfin, Joshua Scott, David Scott, Daniel Scott, Zach Scott, Abby Scott, Bridgette Newbille, Brandy Bates, Dustin Strickland and Josh Strickland, great-grandchildren, Elijah and Austin.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend Dustin Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery with Lance Corporal Josh Strickland, Wayne Funk, Joshua Scott, Stephen Donnahoo, Shawn Crawford and Kalan Franklin serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on on Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
