Sharon Rankins, 68, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 in a local hospital.
A native of Kokomo, In., and the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel Suits Hatt, she graduated from Kokomo High School. She had lived in Chattanooga since 1988 and retired from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. She was a member of Lupton Drive Baptist Church and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bill Hatt.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Jim Rankins; sons, Chris (Stephanie) Ogle, Brad (Esther) Ogle and Stan (Mindy) Rankins; grandson, Peyton Ogle; granddaughter, Madison Ogle; sister-in-law, Vicki Hatt.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Brother Randy Bell officiating. Burial is in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic at Children’s Hospital, Erlanger.
