The Association for Visual Arts will host an exhibition of installation art from three local and regional artists beginning Friday. Education and Exhibitions Director for AVA Lauren Goforth says, “Installation art uses interesting and sometimes unconventional materials to transform the perception of a space and create an experience for the viewer. It blurs the lines between art and life, and it makes us stop and notice our surroundings.”
This exhibit was juried by AVA’s Exhibition Advisory Panel, which consists of professional artists, curators, and art educators.
Artists selected for this exhibition include Ashley Hamilton, Tim Hinck, Baggs McKelvey and James O’Donnell.
The exhibit will run through April 27. There will be an opening reception Friday from 5-7:30 p.m.
The AVA Gallery is at 30 Frazier Ave. and is open Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free.
