Alethea Cathell “went home” on February 28, 2013.  

Born in Rose Hill, Delaware she was preceded in death by her husband, George A. (Al) Cathell. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living member of White Oak Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Joan (C.J.) Moore and her son, Steve (Sandy) Cathell; grandchildren, David Moore, Beverly Kindiger, Kathleen German, Jonathan Cathell, Andrew Cathell, Stephanie Frizzell; great-grandchildren, Maedean Kindiger, Timothy German, Kaitlyn Kindiger, Drew Cathell, Olivia Frizzell, Nate Cathell, and not-yet-born Paige Frizzell.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Reverend Chris Ehlers and Dr. Tony Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. 

Her grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. 

Donations can be made to Bethel Bible Village or White Oak Baptist Church.

Child, 23 Months, Found Dead In Crib With Fentanyl Patch On Back; Death Ruled Homicide

A 23-month-old Chattanooga boy has been found dead in his crib with a Fentanyl patch on his back. The death of Demarcus Bryant at 7655 Borris Dr. last month was ruled a homicide. An autopsy report says he died from "Fentanyl patch placed by someone else." Chattanooga Police are investigating. No one has yet been charged. The child was found face down in his crib. ...
