Alzheimer's Association Plans Advocacy Event

  • Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Alzheimer’s Association Day on The Hill will be Tuesday, Feb. 19. Participants will travel to Nashville for the annual event. They will travel by chartered bus to visit with legislators and advocate on behalf of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Transportation and meals are provided, and the event is free.

RSVP is required by Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Organizers said, "It's the opportunity for those whose families have been impacted by the disease to ride together and have an audience with elected officials to share their stories and lobby for government support in the prevention and treatment of dementia."

For more information and to reserve a spot on the bus, contact Amy French at the local Alzheimer's Association office, at 423 265-3600.
