Candidate Forum Is Feb. 18

The Psi Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity together, with the Pi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, will host a candidate forum  for offices of mayor and City Council on Monday, Feb. 18, 6:30-8 p.m.

This event will take place at the Greater Tucker Baptist Church, 1115 N. Moore Road across the street from Brainerd High School.

River Gallery March Exhibit Features Margaret Dyer And Jan Kransberger

The March exhibit at River Gallery will feature works by Margaret Dyer and Jan Kransberger.  There will be an opening reception with the artists on Friday, March 3, from 6:30-8 p.m. The snow date is Saturday, March 4, from 204 p.m.  In this show Margaret Dyer uses oil for her paintings of France, Italy, New York, and Atlanta as well as the figure.  ... Tennessee Highway Patrol Announces Second Trooper Cadet Lateral Class

Stubbs Arrested In Carjacking At Lakesite McDonald's; SWAT Team Takes Him Into Custody After Struggle At Dayton Pike Apartment

The Sheriff's Office has arrested Jonathan Casey Stubbs in connection with a Feb. 13 carjacking at the parking lot of the McDonald's in Lakesite. Stubbs, 28, who gave his address as Ringgold, is charged with carjacking, aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, resisting arrest, unlawfully carrying a weapon and three counts of violating probation on prior aggravated burglary ... East Ridge Makes Needy Child Fund 501(C)(3); Considers Using Former Fire Hall For High School Field House; Approves New Sign Ordinance

East Ridge has operated a fund for decades, which helps the less fortunate residents of the city. Often, those working with The Needy Child Fund hear of people that need help through the schools or neighbors. The fund helps provide food, coats and clothing to families, especially around Christmas when it also gives gifts to children that are delivered by the police and fire departments. ...
