Karl W. Hixon – 64, of Chattanooga, died on Monday, February 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Wesley F. and Audrey E. Hixon, of Curwensville, Pa.

He was a graduate of Indiana University in Indiana, Pa., and was a big Steelers and Penn State fan. Karl worked many years in the insurance industry earning his LOMA, CLU, CHFC and ACS. He later worked as a tax professional earning his EA (Federal Tax License).

Karl was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Alicia L. Hixon, his St. Bernard, Heidi, both of Chattanooga, and brother, Richard A. Hixon, of Curwensville, Pa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local Red Cross or McKamey Animal Center.
