Featured speaker Scott Drucker, Master Gardener, Landscape designer, architect and lawyer, is set to appear at the 55+ Club meeting Sunday, March 10 at Collegedale Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4829 College Drive East. He will provide a visual and horticultural journey of the plantings, gardens and environs of Budapest and Prague and the spectacular Schoenbrunn Gardens of Vienna as he explains the design principles, plant usage and settings.
Mr. Drucker is a local landscape designer and proprietor of his own design called Dream Gardens, and he is the new vice president of speakers on the board of CALP (Chattanooga Association of Landscape Professionals). After obtaining his bachelor's and Juris Doctor degrees and delving into a few diverse careers in different cities, he decided to work at the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia in Athens where his passion for horticulture really surfaced. Now he is an avowed "plantaholic" with collections of antique roses numbering almost 100 varieties, camellias, hydrangeas and many other interesting specimens in his wife's personal garden.
Anyone 55 years of age or older is welcome to attend the meeting. The vegetarian luncheon begins at noon; all food is to be brought by 11:30 a.m. to the church. First-time visitors need not bring food but must RSVP by Thursday, March 7 to Rita Vital at 505-6605 or Erling Odell at 591-4779.
