Decosimo, an accounting and business advisory firm, is providing support as a bronze sponsor for the Southern States Alternative Investing Symposium targeting plan sponsors, institutional investors and alternative investment professionals March 3-6 at the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Resort in Birmingham, Alabama. Decosimo Principal Fred Decosimo, CPA, will provide thought leadership for the session “Real Estate State of the Industry: Revisiting Institutional Investment Real Estate Strategies - What Part of The Cycle Are We Really In?” on Monday, March 4. Principals Robert Belcher, CPA, and Cole Powell, CPA, will also represent Decosimo during the symposium’s various networking activities.

 

The conference hosted by the Southern States Business Coalition (SSBC) will explore topics such as the state of the industry: risks, rewards and trade-offs of investing (or not) in post-financial crisis alternatives; enhancing and protecting LP interests; finding and paying for the true alpha within an alternative investment portfolio; mitigating fraud; the global investment outlook looking forward; alternative investing for smaller portfolios; building an emerging manager alternative’s portfolio; the future of fund of funds; the role of secondary interests in private equity portfolios today; and investing in today’s globally linked credit markets. The conference will also include several panels discussing the current industry status for hedge funds, venture capital, private equity, credit and real estate.   

Fred Decosimo has more than 30 years of experience in both public accounting and consulting services. His extensive experience includesprivate equity capital formation and assisting clients in obtaining both private and public funding. His corporate finance experience encompasses bank debt negotiations, due diligence preceding acquisitions and mergers, litigation support, structuring limited partnerships joint ventures and equity investments. Mr. Decosimo has consulted and/or arranged the debt and equity financing of numerous multi-family and single-family residential projects, retail projects, resort properties and mixed-use properties throughout the Southeast. He also has extensive investor and principal development experience.
