Prison Prevention Ministries of Chattanooga conducted its 10th annual Christian revival service at CCA-Silverdale on Feb. 18-20.
In all, 82 volunteer teachers, preachers, evangelists, musicians and counselors served over the three-night event that was spread across nine units at the facility.
Organizers said, "No safety or security problems were noted owing to the excellent organization and readiness of CCA staff, with which PPM staff and volunteers have an excellent working relationship.
"Average nightly attendance was 338 inmates despite the lockdown or partial lockdown situations in several units all three nights. The highest headcount was 341 on Wednesday, with 1013 attending overall. Records indicate that 91 persons committed their lives to Christ for the first time and 83 rededicated their lives to the Lord. Plans are well in hand to implement follow-up New Believers’ Classes with 148 inmates who requested to participate over the subsequent five-week period.
"PPM wishes to offer many thanks to the CCA-Silverdale team for your service to our community, and for your willingness to give opportunity to organizations like ours to serve incarcerated men and women whose lives can be transformed by faith."
