Sons of the American Revolution State Conference March 15 and 16

The John Sevier Chapter of the TNSAR will host the Sons of the American Revolution ‘s 124th State conference at the Marriott Hotel in Chattanooga.

On March 15th and 16th, members of the SAR chapters from across the state will gather to recognize the accomplishments of the organization and to plan for the coming year. Tennessee President Charles Damman will preside over the activities. Mr. Damman is also a member of the John Sevier Chapter. Special guest of the meeting will be John Taylor, the Vice President General of the Southern district of the National SAR.

Friday will be registration and a reception, Saturday will be the Youth Luncheon and the Evening Banquet. Guest Speaker at the Banquet will be Tom Turnbow.

The SAR is an organization comprised of the lineal descendants of men and women who fought for Americas Independence from England. Members must prove their “blood line” back to these patriots. Todays SAR works to preserve the freedoms that their ancestors fought and died for. They work to develop an awareness of our Country’s beginnings Through essay contest, speakers, and attendance at Naturalization ceremonies.

Man Sought In Murder Of Pregnant Wife On Lovell Road Commits Suicide In Gordon County Motel

Terry Lee Releford, who police were seeking in the the murder of his pregnant wife Tammy Releford on Lovell Road on Sunday, has taken his own life. Atwood Gets 9-Year Prison Sentence In Traffic Death Of Friend

A man who police said was traveling 70 miles per hour on a side street in St. Elmo when he wrecked and killed one of his close friends was sentenced Monday to nine years in prison. Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem
