The Tennessee Crush open up the 2013 season at Finley stadium on Saturday against the number one ranked semi-pro team in the country the Huntsville Rockets.
The Crush is led by former CIty high running back and captain Langston Muse, 2006 Tennessee Mr. Football Darius Mcdonald and Willie Owens of Howard, Minor league All Americans Marcus Reese from Ridgeland, Greg Hale from Brainerd and Corey Boykin from Tyner.
Other standouts include former South Pittsburg all star Keaton Jones, Pat Moore from Central, AJ Baker from Shorter college, Zac Fairchild from Ringgold, Gabe Erwin from Calhoun and Al Walker from North Jackson.
The Crush are the 2010 United South Football Champions and are now competing in the National Developmental Football League. The Rockets won the NDFL in 2012 with a 15-0 record and went on to win the semi-pro National Championship.
The Crush staff includes head coach Tyler Waters, offensive coach Damon Smith, a former Brainerd all state QB, special teams coaches Chuck Goins and Alan Blake, while the line is coached by team GM and former Oklahoma Sooner and minor league all American John Caudill.
