March 4-7 was a busy time in the Georgia House of Representatives. We discussed and voted on many House Bills forwarded to the Senate for consideration.
HB105 corrected the 2012-2013 budget through June of 2013. HB123 The Parent/Teacher Empowerment Act was passed to the Senate. In this act the local school board has the final say in determining whether an academic change needs to be made. HB188 will allow the veteran to have credit in some fields, such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, while integrating into a civilian career. HB512 the Safe Carry Protection Act was passed and sent to the Senate. It is a comprehensive amendment of multiple sections of Georgia’s weapon code to allow for expanded carry rights for license holders.
