County Clerk Bill Knowles announced Monday that Tennessee law has been changed, expanding disabled parking privileges relating to specialty and personalized license plates.
Mr. Knowles said, “Under provisions of TCA 55-21-103 a unique disabled decal has been created for disabled drivers whose vehicle has been registered with a specialty, or personalized, license plate. A specimen decal is printed below to assist law enforcement.
“When affixed to the lower left corner of a specialty license plate the wheelchair symbol is acceptable and has the same parking privileges as afforded drivers with disabled license plates or placards.
“All other physician approval requirements apply to this special decal issued only by the County Clerk’s office.”
