Sheraton Read House Hotel Chattanooga Names New General Manager

Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG), a privately owned hotel ownership and management firm based in Atlanta, announced that it has named Jen Prpich, CHA, as general manager of the Sheraton Read House Hotel Chattanooga. The property is at 827 Broad Street in downtown Chattanooga. In February 2013, HVMG assumed management of the 241-room Sheraton Read House Hotel Chattanooga that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Ms. Prpich brings over a decade of hotel management experience to her new position.  Prior to joining HVMG, she most recently served as General Manager of both the 315-room Winston-Salem Marriott and 146-suite Embassy Suites Winston-Salem in Winston-Salem, NC. A graduate of Madison University, Ms. Prpich is a member of the Board of Directors of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce and has been an active Rotarian since 2001. A fitness enthusiast who enjoys running and hiking, she and her husband Mark have two sons. 

Built in 1927, the landmark Sheraton Read House Hotel Chattanooga has been meticulously restored to its original grandeur. It features renovated guest rooms with the luxurious Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed and Drexel Heritage furniture; 19,000 square feet of meeting space including the majestic Silver Ballroom; new state-of-the-art exercise facility; new indoor heated pool; 24-hour valet parking; private Club level/lounge; 24-hour business center; the upscale Porter’s Steakhouse that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner; a Starbucks Coffeehouse, and room service.

Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
