East Ridge Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress on Tuesday at 11:05 a.m. at the Famous Market convenience store at 1301 Greenslake Road.

Two suspects were described as young black males, medium build, and about 5’9”. One suspect was dressed in dark pants and a grey hoodie, and the other was wearing a red hoodie. They entered the store armed with handguns and demanded money.

East Ridge patrol officers responded within four minutes and began canvassing the area for the suspects. Witness accounts indicate that the suspects fled in a gold, late model Chrysler vehicle bearing a drive-out tag. The vehicle was being driven by a third unknown black male. They were last seen traveling west on Bennett Road from the scene.

Cash and cartons of Newport cigarettes were stolen during the incident.

Anyone with knowledge of the robbery or suspects involved is encouraged to contact the East Ridge Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 423 867-3718 or on the confidential tip line at 423 867-0016.
