The random act of kindness at a cookie booth at an East Ridge Bi-Lo has gotten reaction from New Jersey children.
A man approached the Troop 40029 booth and bought all 70 boxes of the girl’s cookies as what he called “a random act of kindness.” Beyond buying out the entire cookie booth, he asked the girls to give every customer coming into the store a free box.
The third grade class from Hawes Elementary School in Ridgewood, New Jersey read the Chattanoogan.com article. The class then called the Chattanooga council to donate four boxes of cookies to the Mountain of Hope program sending donations to the Air and Army National Guards in Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia.
Teacher John Otterstedt said the class is working on performing random acts of kindness and paying it forward in the class and they chose the local Chattanooga council.
